2016 Dodge Challenger 5.7L V8 Oil Change

  • Equipment needed
    1. Oil: SAE 5W-20. 7 qt.
    2. Oil filter.
    3. Jack
    4. Jack stand
    5. Oil pan.
    6. funnel
    7. Optional: ramp.
    8. Wrench.
    9. Washer
    10. Wheel stopper
    11. Gloves
    12. Moving Blanket.
  • Steps
    1. Remove Cervini shaker hood. (optional)
      • no need to remove if the funnel is able to bend down to access engine oil mouth.
    2. Remove 10mm bolt x6. Under the car (Engine cover)
    3. Remove Oil drain screw, 13mm. 10-15 lb torque. this could be very hard, so use a little force.
    4. Drain the oil.
      • oil could go very far, make sure oil pan is positioned a little farther away.
    5. Remove oil filter. Drain the oil. Use the oil filter clamp if you have it.
    6. Add oil to the new oil filter, and rub the rim.
    7. Install oil filter.
    8. Install drain plug screw. 10-15lb torque.
    9. Pour oil to engine. (7 qt, including oil filter).
    10. Check oil level.
    11. Make sure there is no leak under the engine.
    12. Install engine cover.
    13. Install shaker hood back(optional).
    14. start the engine. check the oil pressure.
    15. Turn off the engine.
    16. Reset oil change reminder.
      1. Turn to RUN status w/o starting the car (don’t’ press on brake)
      2. Go to vehicle info, oil life.hold OK.
      3. Start the car. Observe oil pressure. 53psi.
